Frequently Asked Questions:
Q: How long will this ride take?
A: About six weeks. We will leave San Diego September 1, 2012 and arrive in St. Augustine, Florida on October 14.
Q: How many miles per day will you average?
A: About 80 to 100.
Q: Won’t your butts be sore?
Q: Where will you stay?
A: We will camp the majority of the time, but if you or your organization is willing to put us up for the night, we will gladly welcome the break!
Q: Can I ride along?
A: Sure! You can ride for months or hours! Just give us a call so we can all keep in touch and plan it together! We’d love to have school groups, church groups, corporate groups, or just other faces along for all or part of the ride! The more, the merrier!
Q: Can I be a Man-Babe?
A: Yes, as long as you agree to occasionally carry heavy things and step on bugs for us.
Q: Will you be raising money?
A: Yes, we accept.
Q: Where will the money go?
A: We are building a boarding home and community development center, including a library, a cultural arts center, vocational training, sustainable farming program and more! ALL of the money raised goes directly to building the home and the programs. The estimated cost so far (plans are being drawn by a volunteer) is approximately $100,000 USD.
Q: Aren’t those lofty goals?
A: You clearly haven’t met us. 🙂
Q: What’s next?
A: We need your help! This is the first Babes Blocking Traffic event, and our goal is to get the word out. We know that, once more people know about child trafficking, they will also want to stop the cycle. We want you to make a difference! Organize a walk or ride (we can get you started!), talk to your friends and local organizations, and volunteer if you can!
